City of the blind, based on the novel of Nobel prize winner José Saramago, tells the story of a city that is suddenly struck by an epidemic of ´white blindness´. The blind are put in quarantine in a place where circumstances deteriorate very rapidly. Due to shortage of food and bad hygiene their humanity and dignity is put to the utmost test.
Thibaud Delpeut: ´It is often said that man can turn into an animal overnight. But people will always be people. Even if they are capable of doing the most horrific things. City of the blind shows us man, in all his inimitableness.´
