Naar Kisondela (To Kisondela)

For this performance Sheralynn examines what it is to combine the African tradition of storytelling with something contemporary: video projection.

I am Sheralynn
I am Dutch and citizen of Amsterdam
But in the sea container
In this limited space
We create our own truth
In my truth, we are in Africa
In Tanzania
In a small village called Kisondela

Back to basics, to blending in with the surroundings, connecting with the people around you and listening to their stories, fascinated like a little child.

In this performance Sheralynn examines what it is to combine the African tradition of storytelling with something contemporary: video projection.

Likeminds- Milone Reigman about Sheralynn Adriaansz: “Sheralynn has been working with Likeminds as a young artist since 2015. After doing a year at  ‘The Factory’, preparatory training project of Likeminds we kept on supporting Sheralynn in her development as a theatre maker. Sheralynn is passionate, possesses humour and her individuality finds its way into her work on stage. Her work has autobiographical aspects which she completes with elements like: storytelling, video and object-theatre. Artists that have their world view as a starting point and try and communicate that to their audience are supported by us to develop themselves further as artists.”
