Anouke de Groot and Timen Jan Veenstra will present performances they have developed last year within the Wijkmakers project of the Over het IJ Festival.
Special edition Sea Container Programme
On account of our jubilee we ask well known theatre companies that have started their careers on the Over het IJ Festival to come up with the talents of tomorrow for the Sea Container Programme. This resulted in some unique cooperations of FC Bergman, Schweigman&, Young Gangsters, Alexandra Broeder, BOG, Golden Palace, Berg&Bos, Dansmakers, Likeminds and Het Houten Huis.
Loads of new artists
More than ever we give a clear field for the theatre talents of today and tomorrow. Six new artists present short performances on the NDSM Shipyard. You can also do a route that travels past three performances of the young artists of Het Atelier. Finally, together with Grachtenfestival we map out the musical theatre hike: De Vijfde Variaties along Kattenburg and Wittenburg.
Are you looking for a deepening of understanding? Then you can visit one of the Specials: guided walks along one or more performances, with a possibility to meet with and talk to the artists. This year special guests will accompany you across the NDSM-grounds, among whom Correspondent journalist Vera Mulder, writer Bas Kok, Denker des Vaderlands René ten Bos and writer, journalist and programme maker Chris Keulemans.
The festival heart is more dazzling than ever in 2017. Together with café and restaurant Pllek we present an extensive programme with live music on the city-beach next to the theatre performances in the daytime and at night. Nighthawks can indulge themselves until the small hours during the club nights at the restaurant during weekends.
